Project 2 – Form and Composition: Final Design

This is the final piece.

From left to right: comfort, congestion, order, tension, playfulness.

The only critique that was unexpected was that my order has an element of tension because of the “grid illusion“.
The rest was consistent with my intentions.

Project 2 – Form and Composition: Sketches

I began working on my task of representing five concepts with simple abstract pictures by making seven sketches for each concept.

First, I outlined which concepts I need to work on. Then I allocated enough space for each concept, wrote its title, and started working.

My first concept is tension. I made some sketches and wrote short comments.

On this page, I have more sketches for tension and one sketch for order.

This page contains the rest of the order sketches.
Here I have the sketches for comfort.
This page has one more sketch for comfort and five sketches for congestion.
Here I have the rest of the congestion sketches and some of the sketches for playfulness.
Finally, this page contains the rest of the playfulness sketches.

My next step is transferring these sketches into Illustrator.
